From North to South

Amy's ramblings. Once upon a time these ramblings pertained to my 5 months in Guatemala and Honduras. Then they followed the ebb and flow of my final semester in Alaska. From there things really went south ... to Argentina, Bolivia and Chile. After 8 months in the Andes, I fell back under Alaska's spell … working at a newspaper and wandering mountains. Now I'm somewhat south again ... in Jackson Hole, WY, teaching ski school on the clock and making fresh tracks off the clock.

Nebaj to Todos Santos Part V

All the men in Todos Santos wear the exact same pants and shirts. It's a bit bizaare, but also very cool, to walk down the main street and be surrounded by people wearing such bright colors.

Rachel and I showing-off the pants we bought in second hand store in Todos Santos

From the little boys to the hip teenagers to the old men, all the guys sport the same look

Looking out over the town center

I found this sign interesting. In perfect spanish it should read: Tienda California. Aqui se vende zapatos de hombres y de mujeres. Mas baratos. (Note that we were in Mam speaking country so spanish is a second language for everyone in the area)

As we descended La Torre these flowers were in bloom all along the rock walls

An amusing sign on top of La torre, especially given that we were nowhere near any place that you could buy coffee

A group photo on top of La Torre, the highest non-volcanic point in Guatemala. Our guide for the day, one of Geronimo's sons, is on the bottom-left.
