From North to South

Amy's ramblings. Once upon a time these ramblings pertained to my 5 months in Guatemala and Honduras. Then they followed the ebb and flow of my final semester in Alaska. From there things really went south ... to Argentina, Bolivia and Chile. After 8 months in the Andes, I fell back under Alaska's spell … working at a newspaper and wandering mountains. Now I'm somewhat south again ... in Jackson Hole, WY, teaching ski school on the clock and making fresh tracks off the clock.

Snowy Thompson Pass

I drove to Valdez last weekend to check out a peice of property. While I was there, I met up with/ stayed with a friend. The next day, on the way out of town, her room mate and I spent a few hours skiing/ boarding on Thompson Pass. It's the first time I've seen the pass in the winter ... and it can only be described as a backcountry skiers paradise. Pretty lines and magnificent peaks sprawl in every dirction. This time around I got a taste ... next time around I hope to take a big juicy bite.
