From North to South

Amy's ramblings. Once upon a time these ramblings pertained to my 5 months in Guatemala and Honduras. Then they followed the ebb and flow of my final semester in Alaska. From there things really went south ... to Argentina, Bolivia and Chile. After 8 months in the Andes, I fell back under Alaska's spell … working at a newspaper and wandering mountains. Now I'm somewhat south again ... in Jackson Hole, WY, teaching ski school on the clock and making fresh tracks off the clock.

50 relatives in 5 days

At the end of August I had a chance to reconnect with relatives from both my dad's and mom's side - first the Hammerson family reunion in State College, PA in honor of my Great Uncle Milt's 100th birthday, then on to the Pittsburgh area for the Scopel family reunion and time with my mom's side of the family. I loved seeing everyone, even if I did manage to slip and stumble over words every time someone asked me where I live ... hmmm ... this whole happily homeless thing ... not the easiest to explain. But, hey, in two weeks I'll be back to paying rent ... in Jackson Hole (for the record) ... and the glory days will be gone ... for now (but not forever) ... still plenty of that free spirit in me to keep on sailin' for a long time to come.

(P.S. a big shout out to my cousin Susie who claims to be my most avid blog reader ... checks it daily she says ... sometimes even before getting the latest gossip on the big celebs ... I'm truly honored).

A shout out back to you Amy! :-) Thanks for posting so many great stories in a row. It gave me a good 20 minutes worth of reading instead of catching up on work! I love it!
